I am pretty impressed with this place! It was really authentic and really delicious! I had the chicken nachos and my friend had two tacos with rice and beans. Everything was great. Large, inexpensive portions. Awesome lunch spot. They had various menu items--including breakfast tacos and burritos...something I definitely want to try! I will be back!

Excellent taqueria if you are looking for authentic Mexican food. I had the al pastor tacos the first time I went and was blown away at the flavor. I have also eaten the chili verde burrito and was not disappointed. You should definitely give this place a try if you are tired of the same ole tex-mex food.

Decent food but they want to charge 8.99 for a kids cheese only nacho -- the same price they charge for the adult chicken loaded nachos. No gracias.

The guacamole had more onions and tomatoes in it than avocado. Salsa is spicy, but watered down. Queso was more milk and flour than cheese. Burrito with barbacoa, the meat had no seasoning added to it, so it was bland. She asked if I wanted onions and cilantro, I said yes, but got missed. Burrito was very greasy and wouldn't stay together. Water is not free. We were hoping to go to Nic's Grill, across the street, but the line was so long we decided to come here. I'm sorry we did.

We stopped into this place on our road trip. I had lengua (tongue), pork, tripa (tripe) tacos. I thought it was very authentic. We talked to the church folks in front of us and found out one of the people was from Bakersfield. Small world. I was also told they hadn't been open for too long so having such a long line was definitely a good sign. The paintings on the walls are also pretty interesting... The Aztec type photos depict very muscular and strong looking figures. Not sure if they were for sale, but it would be cool if they were. I am sure the artist would get a decent amount of business from that alone.

Really good! Tried the Red Chile Burro and added sour cream thinking (and hoping) that the deep red chile would be just that... and it was! The line at the counter was quite long - and most everyone was happily chatting about how much they enjoy coming here... and awaiting their favorite items. i heard talk of a soup... didn't see it on the menu but suspect it would have been a Pozole or Hominy soup... i do hope to try sometime. Overall, the pricing is good... my $6.00 burrito was worth every penny. i understand from another diner that they just took a price increase. I can understand this... since the price of proteins across the board have risen significantly in the past 18 months. Regardless, they are priced well and the quality is superb! i will go back! Thank you Leslie for the reco... it was excellent!!!

I recommend getting the tacos here. I tried the chicken and beef tacos - both excellent. They're seasoned well and I like their soft taco shells. Not bad for $1.50 each. Rice and beans weren't as impressive. They're nothing to rave about. I always order horchata if it's available and for $2.50, I thought it tasted alright. It's hard to find good horchata and every restaurant makes it differently. The dining room was large but deserted. We were one of the few customers there but they had the TV blasting a Spanish opera that was turned up way too loud. All in all, this is a decent place to grab some Mexican. Their breakfast burritos looked promising so I will be back to try that!

I like it hot and messy, everything I eat needs more heat in my opinion. I'm from San Antonio and spend my holidays visiting my folks there or now my husbands family in Santa Fe, and to be honest those are the only places I get a satisfying fix of the hot and spicy Tejano style food I grew up on. I am hopeful that Rafitas will to help ease my cravings during those in between phases, I've tried a few things on the menu but the GREEN CHILLI BURRITO has been my favorite so far (I'm not sure you can handle it though, so enter with caution) Enchiladas, California Burrito, Flautas good but nothing to really "yelp" about. I'm encouraged that I will find some even more really amazing things to eat there, my friends Torta looked scrumptious, but he didn't share any with me, so I can't tell you what it tasted like only that it looked good. They're super-friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable. I'm excited to have breakfast tacos so close to my house as well chorizo & egg, potato & eggs, anything & egg tacos are a good way to start a Saturday morning. This place has a ton of potential and overall this is a very welcomed addition to my neighborhood. (Oh and there business cards are funny and cute.)

I love this place. So much flavor, quick, and great prices. There salsas are delicious! I usually get the carne asada quesa dilla.

These were the most authentic and delicious tacos I've had in OKC. Sometimes simple is better. I personally don't like Big Truck Tacos because I think they have no flavor and waaaay too many options. The chorizo breakfast taco and the a asada are both really good!

This place is awesome! One of the best taquerias in the metro! While you're there grab some of their amazing house made lemonade!

Excellent tacos. I especially like the chicken tacos. The food is very, very good. And the service is great in this clean, friendly place.

The meats seem steamed. The tortillas are soggy. Salsa needs salt. I just didn't like. I have been there twice, and I only got tacos. But, it never hit the spot. I really wanted to like it. I usually give a place 3 tries, but I think I'll pass on this one. The interior is really depressing as well.

Quite disappointing. Tried three different tacos, all lacking flavor. Good tortillas...they were the highlight.

Went again. Actually two times this week. Their pollo quesadilla is pretty damn good. At $4, that's a steal. Asada tacos. Yes. 3 will do you good.

This doesn't feel like a restaurant at all. it was odd at first. The people are friendly and the food was quite good. I didn't know what most of the food on the menu was so I'm guessing it was authentic. lol. I did enjoy my burrito and my buddy really liked his taco salad. he said the bowl was very good.

Home made food at a great price , as a Mexican I appreciate them staying true to our way of cooking . Real Mexican food and their salsas are the best. Only bad thing is having to pay for chips and salsa

This place is amazing. The sweetest lady in the world and the best Mexican food I've had in a while. I will definitely be going back for more and I'll be taking people back with me! TRY THE CALIFORNIA BURRITO!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
